Milagrosa Cross-Canyons Hike January 14, 2023
This starts at the Milagrosa Trailhead (go east on Snyder, past Soldier Trail, turn left on Avenida de Suzenu, go near to the end of Suzenu and park on the shoulder).

The trail crosses the bottom of Aqua Caliente canyon, climbs above it, then drops back down. After a short walk along the canyon floor, climb up the ridge separating Aqua Caliente and Milagrosa, drop down the other side to the floor of Milagrosa and back up the other side. This route has high (very) altitude views of both canyons along the way. And there may be running water in the streambeds.
This is a 6.5 mile roundtrip, and because of all the up and downs, the total climbing is about 1900 ft. Be prepared to get wet up to your ankles — dress accordingly!
This hike is appropriate for intermediates and above.
Bring water, and a lunch. Sunscreen, hat, hiking poles. Wear long pants and long sleeves.
